Curb Rash & Refinishing
From Curb Rash to Complete Refinishing
Scrapes, gouges and curb rash do not always require refinishing the entire wheel. When damage is localized, AWR can often repair only the affected area and blend the new finish into the existing factory clear coat.
When the damage or finish deterioration is more extensive, we can refinish the complete wheel face or move to a more comprehensive refinish that includes the barrel. We match the level of refinishing to the condition of the wheel rather than doing more work than necessary.
Choose the Right Level of Refinishing
Cosmetic wheel damage can range from a small scrape to deterioration across the entire wheel. We match the repair to the amount of damage and condition of the existing finish.
Spot Repair
Localized curb rash, scrapes and cosmetic damage can often be repaired only where needed, with the new finish blended into the surrounding factory finish.
Face Refinish
When damage is too extensive for a spot repair, the complete wheel face can be prepared, refinished and clear coated for a smooth, consistent appearance.
Complete Wheel Refinish
For wheels with more extensive finish damage or deterioration, we can perform a more comprehensive refinish that includes both the wheel face and barrel.
Our Refinishing Process
We match the repair process to the damage rather than automatically refinishing more of the wheel than necessary.
1
Inspect
We evaluate the cosmetic damage, existing finish and overall wheel condition before recommending a repair.
2
Prepare
The repair area is cleaned and prepared, with scratches, gouges and surface imperfections corrected as needed.
3
Refinish
We spot repair and blend localized damage or refinish the wheel face when a larger repair is required.
4
Final Inspection
The completed finish is inspected before the vehicle or wheel is returned to you.
Cosmetic Damage Is Only Part of the Inspection
Curb rash may be the reason you came in, but every wheel gets a Four-Point Inspection before we finalize the repair. We look for other damage that may affect the recommended work or the safety of the wheel.
Bend Inspection
We check for bends, flat spots, out-of-round conditions and structural deformation.
Crack Inspection
We look for cracks, previous welds, stress fractures and potential air leaks.
Cosmetic Inspection
Curb rash, scratches, corrosion, peeling clear coat and previous repairs are evaluated.
Tire Inspection
We check for punctures, leaks, uneven wear, sidewall damage, dry rot, bulges and tread concerns.
Curb Rash & Refinishing Pricing

Final pricing depends on wheel size, finish, condition and the extent of the damage. Every wheel is inspected before the final repair and price are confirmed.
