Bent Wheel Repair
Straighten the Wheel. Smooth Out the Ride.
Potholes, road hazards and hard impacts can bend a wheel enough to cause vibration, poor tire seating or an uneven ride. In many cases, a qualifying bent wheel can be professionally straightened instead of replaced.
Every bent wheel starts with an inspection. We look at the location and severity of the damage, check the wheel for cracks and other structural concerns, and determine whether straightening is a safe and appropriate repair.
Signs You May Have a Bent Wheel
A bent wheel is not always obvious by looking at it. Changes in ride quality, tire pressure or wheel movement can all point to a problem.
Vibration While Driving
A wheel that is no longer running true can contribute to vibration that becomes noticeable through the steering wheel or vehicle.
Flat Spots & Deformation
Potholes and impacts can distort the wheel, creating visible flat spots or less obvious out-of-round conditions.
Air Loss
Damage around the wheel or bead area can interfere with the tire's seal and contribute to a persistent loss of air pressure.
Impact Damage
If you recently hit a pothole, curb or road hazard, an inspection can identify wheel damage that may not be immediately visible.
Our Bent Wheel Repair Process
Straightening starts with understanding where the wheel is damaged and whether it can be safely corrected.
1
Inspect
We inspect the wheel for bends, cracks, previous repairs and other damage.
2
Measure
We identify the location and severity of the deformation and evaluate how the wheel is running.
3
Straighten
Qualifying bends are carefully corrected using the appropriate wheel-straightening process.
4
Final Inspection
The corrected wheel is checked again before it goes back on the vehicle.
Every Wheel Gets a Four-Point Inspection
A bend may be the obvious problem, but it is not the only thing we look for. We inspect the wheel and tire before recommending repair.
Bend Inspection
We check for bends, flat spots, out-of-round conditions and structural deformation.
Crack Inspection
We look for cracks, previous welds, stress fractures and potential air leaks.
Cosmetic Inspection
Curb rash, scratches, corrosion, peeling clear coat and previous repairs are evaluated.
Tire Inspection
We check for punctures, leaks, uneven wear, sidewall damage, dry rot, bulges and tread concerns.
